Today is Canada Day and I’ve been fortunate to get the official notification earlier today that I’ve been re-awarded for the next year. Woohoo! It’s a great way to start Canada Day!
It’s true, I’ve changed jobs, and not only that, I am no longer self-employed or working as a consultant.
I haven’t worked as a regular employee at a regular firm for 17 years. Holy cow!
I officially started on Monday of this past week, full time, at Energy+ Inc. as the Manager, Business Solutions. Energy+ is a Local Distribution Company (LDC) regulated by the Ontario Energy Board, delivering hydro (electricity) to approximately 65,000 customers in the City of Cambridge, Township of North Dumfries and County of Brant. They are a Dynamics GP customer (& GPUG member) who I have been providing consulting services to on and off over the past 2.5 years.
Today, December 1, 2017, is the release day for Dynamics GP 2018! Along with the release, we get a refresh in #FabrikamDay, to April 12, 2027, so put that in your calendar, as we will have another FabrikamDay party in 10 years. It’s a Monday… be prepared! 🙂
So, yesterday I found out that I was awarded the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award for my contributions over the last year in the Microsoft Dynamics GP community. Yay! I must say, the entire day was a whirlwind of emotions, varying from “holy cow” (yes, I used a different word there!), to “oh my god, what now?”, to “woohoo I’m an MVP!”, to “Am I really deserving of this?” etc. Well, you get the idea. Excitement, happiness, anxiousness, nervousness, doubt, all of those came and went throughout the day!
