Collaborate Canada 2017

Collaborate Canada is a one-day event that is packed full of information for the technical and functional audiences of Dynamics 365/AX, 365/CRM, GP and NAV. It’s being held in 4 different cities across Canada, on 4 separate dates, each day with the same (or close to the same) content.

At each location, there are separate streams for each of the product lines but all of the attendees will be at the same location on the same day, to really give you that mini Summit-like experience!

The general schedule for the GP side is a general session with Microsoft around the upcoming Dynamics GP 2018 release, to start off the day, then 4 more time slots over the rest of the day, split into two streams, functional and reporting. At each time slot, you have 2 choices of sessions.

My Contributions

I’m on the planning committee for Collaborate Canada this year on the Dynamics GP side of things, so I’ve been busy with the organizers trying to narrow down topics that would fill the seats (so to speak) and ideas for presenters.

Delaney Freer did a “Q&A” with me (but I’ve removed the link because it may be dead).

This year, I will be travelling to each of 4 cities and presenting 2 of the sessions each day. The two topics I’ll be presenting are:

  1. Time to upgrade? Planning and testing tips

This is a repeat of the session I presented at GPUG Summit 2017 in Nashville, TN earlier this month. I’ll be talking a lot about getting to know your environment and how that helps you prepare and plan for an upgrade.

  1. Free Add-ons & Resources for Dynamics GP

This one is new to me but it’s a common type of presentation at many of the GP conferences and always a popular one. It’s really all about a bunch of different tools, add-ons and resources that are available for free that may be of benefit to you in your organization!

Who will be there?

On the Dynamics GP side, Microsoft will be in all 4 cities: Jodi Christiansen will be in Montreal; Pam Misialek will be in Toronto, Calgary and Vancouver. Bob McAdam will be in Calgary and Vancouver and some other yet to be named GPUG folks to support the event will be at all events (it will be a mix of people from across Dynamics Communities).

On the Microsoft MVP side, Beat Bucher, Rod O’Connor and myself are all involved. We are the only 3 MVPs in Canada who focus on Dynamics GP! Rod and I will be at all 4 cities, with Beat in Montreal and possibly Toronto if he can swing it!
